Netware 4.1 with Netware SAA 4.0 upgrade to Netware 5.1
Dear sirs, I would like to know what is the correct procedure to upgrade a Netware 4.1 with Netware for SAA 4.0 server to Netware 5.1. This is the last server we have to upgrade, all the other are already on netware 5.1. Can I just proceed with a inplace upgrade? If so, Do I have to change anything in Netware for SAA? What kind of service pack should I use on Netware 5.1? After upgrade do I need saa40020.exe for netware 5.1? Just a few questions to make sure I'am on the right track. Removing IPX support Netware 6,Netware 4.11
Hi all, Does anyone know a way of forcing Netware 4.11 to use IP instead of IPX as its preferred protocol? After removing IPX support from our netware 6 boxes, our netware 4.11 box can no longer communicate. I would have thought that it would attempt to use IP instead of IPX.. Hi, we have 5 netware 4.11 servers. 2 are in the main office and 3 are in external offices, connected via vpn (DSL). The 2 servers in the main office are in tree1, the other 3 servers have there own 3 trees. One of the servers in the main office runs nw4saa and hostprint and we have to keep this running approx. 8-10 months. But we want to install 5 new netware 6.5 servers (2 in the main office and 3 in the 3 external offices). Can I run 4.6, 4.7 and 4.8 of the Netware Client without issues with Netware 6.5? As I'll be doing an upgrade and don't want to go around the workstations twice to configure them. Netware 4.x to 6.x migration
I have a single server environment which is currently running on old hardware. The source server OS is 4.11 and DS is 6.11 and the destination server OS is 6.50 and DS is 105.10. I recently attempted to migrate to new hardware using Novell Migration Toolkit. The file copy portion of the process went fine. The DS Migration portion of the process failed. It got to the point that the source server was taken down, the destination server took over the name of the new server and then errored out. Anyone come across some users who cannot login to the agent ? Other users on same machines function fine ! Make sure the 'other name' field is not filled in. Using Netware Administraor in Netware 6.x
Can anyone tell me if there is documetation that states Netware Administrator can cause problems with NDS objects. dbsrv7 & Netware 3.x & 4.x Crashes
We have had a lot of problems trying to install ASA version 7 onto Netware 3.x and 4.x platforms. Basically, as soon as the first update is sent to the database server it completely crashes causing an abend in Netware. Does anyone have any experience of this ? Is there a fix ? Hi all, is there any way of removing IPX support from Netware 4.11? We are in the process of implementing a VPN and cannot have IPX traffic flowing across the WAN. Hi there, My NetWare 4.11 was previously upgraded to v.4.2. However, my Maximum Licensed Connections is already full and I want to add additional license. Can I still use 4.11 licenses to my 4.2 server? Will it have conflicts/errors if I proceed in loading the 4.11 license? Please advise, thanks!
